I dont have many angry experiences in my life. But 1 episode that stands out vividly is of the time when i worked at Newurbanmale.com.
I worked there for about 7 months and had a few clashes with my boss.
One example was once i had a friend who visited me in my shop while i was working, so we sat down and started chatting. Of all moments he had to walk in then and caught me there and then, of course i got scolded harshly but i did not really harbour any bad feelings cause it's my fault .
The 2nd example was when a 2 different types of lightbulb in the shop blew.
The 1st bulb that blew was a special kind that only the management guys knew where to get that particular kind, as it was during the X'mas period then, it kept slipping off my mind until about a week later when i got around to informing the correct people.
The 2nd type of bulb was the conventional design where it had this glass bulb on the top and a screw on the bottom. So my colleague was changing the bulb when the glass portion of the glass broke leaving the bottom part attached by only a wire and just stuck to the light circuit. Unable to unscrew it ourselves, we just used some paper and tape to cover the hole so it wouldn't fall and hit anyone directly below. Got to admit it's quite ugly but that was the best we could do then.
One fine day, after the crazy period of X'mas sales, the big boss and 2 management guys came to my shop for
stock taking. Because the boss had noticed the bulb blown a few weeks before and it still hadn't been changed since after, add it with the state of the 2nd bulb. Logic went out of the window and he just kept scolding. I remained quiet because i did what i thought was right and needed at that time.
Anyway, one of the management guys whom i shall just call A, asked me about the 2nd light bulb. i told him exactly what happened but all he did was just stare at me and just nodded his head with a "i dont give a damm what your saying" look on his face.
Perfectly understandable, the boss was there, i'm in the wrong.
But the very next day, when A came down with another person to repair the 2 bulbs, A again asked my colleague what happened to the 2nd bulb. Got the exact reply and he was like' "Oh my god.. so dangerous".
I just wanted to punch him then, Bloody hypocrite.
The thing that really pissed me off the most was i got sacked that very week.
As the incident happened on a Tues or Wed, i got sacked that week sunday.
As the company had this way of releasing the work schedule for the next coming week on every sunday, i discovered my name wasn't in the schedule for the next week.
The thing that pissed me off is when i had to call A, who is in-charge of all employees, and enquire about my status. His words were, " umm yes, today is your last day and you need not come to work starting from monday onwards".
What totally pissed me was not the scoldings but the fact that i had to bloody enquire whether i was fired anot. I dont really know if this is the way they sack their staff but it totally shows no basic courtesy.
Maybe this is the way companies work or maybe its not.
Damm idioitic. If i was told by some other methods, i could totally understand but to actually call them myself., "Hello have i been sacked?"
So yeah, that sums up my experience of an angry moment in my life and its 1 i wont be forgetting soon.
