5 years on..

5 Years Plan

In 5 years, I will be 23 years old. Hopefully, others can know and remember me as someone who is friendly and helpful.

Within that time, I will grow up more mature and being able to handle different situations effectively be it work, social or love.

I need to socialise around more and meet different types of people to give myself more exposure.

Self-Awareness

"Let us not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around in awareness." A simple statement but true for all.

Self awareness is defined as a thorough understanding of who you are, your values and how you percieve the world. In short, its about knowing and appreciating youself. Most of the time, we are sub-consciously affected by everyday stuff which in turn affect us like looks and height and lousier grades. It is because of this thoughts that our personal growth and development are affected because we do not have the self-knowledge to make decisions in our lives that reflect who we are and what we truly value.

To truly understand ourselves, we should take some time out and truly reflect on what we want and need. Having clarity of who you are and what you want empowers one to consciously and actively make the wants a reality.

Alot of times, we see teenagers getting hospitalised because of anorexia or getting into gangfights. Most of it is attributed to a lack of self-awareness. They'are not aware that lots of other postive things are happening around them that they get involved in the negative stuff. All this could be due to friends, who give them undue pressure. Not really knowing one's values and goals yet, they just go along with their friends in whatever they do. Being truly self-aware, we may find out the positives of living in a small house. That money is not everything in this world and looks are just superficial.

It's only when one slowly grows up and mature that we begin to ask ourselves questions. What type of people do we want to spend our time with? How am i conducting myself in public? and lots more.

All these reflective questions help us to form a clearer picture of oneself and let us understand ourself better.
